World class trout fishing on the Yellowstone River drew Paul and Patricia Gates to Livingston Montana. During many trout fishing trips, they discovered beautiful pieces of Petrified Wood, Montana Agate and Jasper in the gravel beds of the river. After retiring from more than twenty years of instrumental music teaching, they turned their passion for these local treasures into “Yellowstone Agate Jewelry.” Paul and Patricia cut, carve, polish and hand craft Montana Agate and other local stones into exquisite, one of a kind pieces of jewelry.
When not making jewelry, Pat and Paul continue their musical careers by performing with the Bozeman, Billings and Helena Symphonies. Patricia performs on viola and flute. Paul performs on bassoon, contrabassoon and various saxophones.
